PRO Tip: Stay Safe with Space Heaters

🔌 PRO Tip: Stay Safe with Space Heaters

As the weather cools down, many of us plug in a space heater for extra warmth. Here’s how to use them safely and avoid fire risks:

✅ Do:

  • Place heaters on a flat, hard, nonflammable surface (not carpet or furniture).

  • Keep at least 3 feet of clearance around the heater (away from curtains, bedding, paper, or furniture).

  • Plug directly into a wall outlet — never use extension cords or power bars.

  • Turn off and unplug when leaving the room or going to bed.

  • Choose models with automatic shut-off if tipped over.

❌ Don’t:

  • Leave a heater unattended.

  • Use near water (bathrooms, laundry rooms).

  • Dry clothes, boots, or mitts directly on the heater.

  • Run cords under rugs — that’s a hidden fire hazard.

👉 Quick Reminder: Space heaters are for temporary, supplemental heat only — not a primary heating source.
