PRO Tip: Blow Out Your Sprinklers Before the Freeze!

💦 PRO Tip: Blow Out Your Sprinklers Before the Freeze! #

Why it matters:
Once temperatures dip below freezing, any leftover water in your outdoor plumbing can expand and crack pipes, fittings, and valves — even buried ones.

Quick Steps:

  1. Shut off the water supply to your sprinkler or outdoor line.

  2. Open drain valves or faucets to let as much water out as possible.

  3. Attach an air compressor to the blow-out port (use a quick-connect adapter if needed).

  4. Set pressure around 50-60 PSI for sprinkler systems (or lower if the manufacturer recommends).

  5. Blow out one zone at a time until only mist comes from the heads.

  6. Disconnect and close all valves when finished.

Bonus Tip:
Don’t forget hose bibs, outdoor taps, and water features — drain or blow them out too, and store garden hoses indoors.
